(Colonel) Dr. Baldev Singh 'Manav', a veteran officer in the Indian Army, committed 39 years to his military career, of which an impressive 8 years were spent with the NCC. He has established a reputation of exceptional service and unique experiences during his tenure with the NCC. In 2017, he was honored to be chosen as the Contingent Commander for the NCC's J&K contingent at the Republic Day parade at India Gate, Delhi. He subsequently filled the role of General Staff Officer at the NCC's HQ Directorate General in Delhi for a limited time. Later, he was promoted to the role of master trainer, tasked with the preparation of the nationwide NCC contingent for the Republic Day parade in 2018. His exemplary training skills and innate leadership qualities have commanded respect and recognition within the NCC community. An avid reader and enthusiastic motivator, he has conducted over 500 voluntary motivational and personality development workshops without charging a dime. During his deputation with the NCC, he served in J&K, Bihar, and Jharkhand, guiding countless cadets for roles in the armed forces and other government positions. His guidance has aided several cadets in being chosen for international youth exchange programs to various countries such as Bhutan, Bangladesh, Vietnam, Singapore, Russia, Kazakhstan, Tajikistan, Nepal, and Maldives. The SAARC Nations NCC youth exchange program at Kathmandu, Nepal in February 2018 saw him leading a cadet team. His articles have been published in national and localized dailies and magazines. He is a member of several national organizations, notably a lifetime member of the National Association of Professional Social Workers of India (NAPSWI). His commendable work has got him awards from both the military and several civilian organizations. As a founding member of the fifty villagers sansthan in Barmer, Rajasthan, he lends his mentorship to this organization which offers free coaching to economically disadvantaged students of all castes, creeds, and religions. This organization has successfully turned out 125 doctors from families that otherwise would not have a dream of sending their children to medical colleges. Among these 125 doctors, 16 are in different AIIMS. ABCD International based out of Nashik, Maharashtra, nominated him as the transformational leader of the NCC for 2020-21. He has four postgraduate degrees and five PG diplomas, including an M. Sc in Military Psychology, an M.Phil in Human Rights, and a PGD in guidance and counseling from Annamalai University. His Bachelor's in Educational Technology was completed at the Army Education Training College at Pachmarhi, MP where he was awarded a gold medal. He also has an M.Ed from HP University, Shimla, HP. A Ph.D. in Education from Jai Narayan Vyas University, Jodhpur Rajasthan adds to his accolades. A gentleman to the core, a kind soul, a true champion of education, possessing a secular ideology with a strong belief in 'VASHUDHAIV KUTUMKAM'- the world is our family, his ultimate goal is to serve humanity until his final breath.
